Wall Coatings: D.I.Y v D.F.Y
The Do It Yourself Option
It would seem within the last decade with the deluge of home improvement programmes, the emergence of the D.I.Y megastore and the current financial crisis, there has been an explosion in the do it yourself enthusiasts, but at what cost?
. . .With our precious social time ever decreasing and A&E's country wide being littered with casualties of this latest fad, is it really worth it?
D.I.Y is now officially in the top three most dangerous activities carried out in the home . . . Not taking into account the fact that after investing money and who knows how many countless hours in an attempt to 'improve' the property the outcome achieved could be somewhat different to expectations.
Imagine eventually after the job is complete having to start again, or even worse the finished article actually devaluing the property!
. . . Or the other choice is of course the professional route . . .

Done for you? (D.F.Y)
Apart from the obvious company selection issue's (avoid the cowboys), other factors such as is the product right for you, and not just the company`s balance sheet? How long after I pay my deposit will the work start? and Of course assuming the price is right, there is no reason that by getting a professional company in to do a job you should not necessarily be faced with broken promises, poor results and sleepless nights.
On the contrary a home improvement project need not leave your house looking like a building site for the next two seasons, but should only have minimum disruption for a limited period; and when completed provide years of pleasure every time you return home and drive up to the front door. Best of all is knowing that every couple of years you don't have to tug at your forelock and face the monotony of carrying out the same old job, and be reassured that any subsequent issue`s will be catered for under the guarantee.
Decisions, decisions. . .
