Exterior Wall Finish: The Application Process

The following is just one example of how we create a sound exterior wall finish using our Andura spray coatings system:

1. Inspection 2. Water/Sand Blast 3. Repair/Replace

A thorough check of the exterior is carried out to assess the current condition and level of work required.

This removes any loose/flaking paint , algae/bacteria or foreign bodies in order to achieve a clean surface with which to work.

In a nutshell we repair or replace if necessary any damaged or defective surfaces including damp proofing courses which ensures the substrate is in good condition and solid.

4. Masking 5. Primer Coat 6. Coating Inspection

Cover carefully or remove if possible all areas not to be treated - good prep = excellent finish.

Either spray coated or brush applied; this base layer contains silicone to repel water and aid protection , this also aids bonding of the top coat

This examination is essential in order to ensure each stage of the application is correct before carrying out any further work.

7. Super Cote 8. Clean up

Always spray coated applied at around 100lbs per square inch, at a minimum coverage of 1 Kilo per square metre; which is equivalent to around 20 times the thickness of conventional paint . When the supercote wall coating hits the primer a chemical reaction occurs that ultimately achieves the "armour like" flexible wall coating.

A final de-mask , thorough clean up and inspection is carried out on the whole working area ; when completed the foreman will check the quality of the workmanship of the exterior wall finnish and finally the site will be visited by an operations manager who will welcome any comments or suggestions.
